Losers are the New Winners!

The appointment of failed federal candidates to the Senate is hilarious. Pity poor Navdeep Bains who, despite delivering a whooping to the CPC in Brampton South with 6,000 more votes than CPC candidate Salma Ataullahjan, will have to run again within the next couple months while Ms. Ataullahjan gets cozy in the red chamber. Talk all you want about needing to control the Senate to change the Senate, but there are better ways to do it than by picking a person who the people already rejected. I'm sure the CPC grassroots is concerned.

They're concerned, all right. They're concerned that an "ethnic" got the nod when there are plenty of equally deserving WASP losers our there. Smells like reverse discrimination.

    Plus, she's a Pashtun. How do we know she's not a Tal-ee-ban?

  2. I'm sure they'll accept Johnston as a trade-off... don't get much whiter than him!

Are you trying to tell me that the CPC grassroots would not be consistent with the logic they used in their criticism of coalition governments and not question this move? Well, I am certainly surprised. Maybe they will scream louder about the democracy destroying aspect of coalition governments, hoping to hair split this event.
